CANS Emerging Leaders Speaker Series returns, with Cogswell District: Rebuilding the Heart of Halifax
Discover one of the most ambitious city-building projects in Halifax’s history—the transformation of the former Cogswell Interchange into a vibrant, connected neighbourhood.
Spanning 16 acres of previously overbuilt road infrastructure, the Cogswell District links downtown with the north end and waterfront, creating a stronger, more inclusive network of communities.
This redevelopment will introduce approximately 2,500 new residential units, parks and open spaces, and multi-modal transportation options, including bike lanes, multi-use pathways, and one of the city’s busiest transit hubs. Learn how this project is reshaping Halifax’s urban core and setting the stage for a dynamic future.
Presented by project leaders Elora Wilkinson, MCIP, PMP, Project Manager, and Matt MacEachern, MScE, P.Eng., PMP, Assistant Program Director, Halifax Regional Municipality. With decades of combined experience in planning, engineering, and project management, Elora and Matt will share insights into the history of the Cogswell Interchange, the challenges of dismantling a major downtown roadway, and the vision for the finished community.
This is a must-attend event for anyone interested in Halifax’s past, present, and future. Don’t miss this opportunity to explore how the Cogswell District is redefining urban living. Reserve your spot today!
