Overview: This program builds practical leadership skills for those currently managing others or preparing for management roles. It helps participants build confidence, develop leadership abilities, and learn how to lead and motivate teams effectively. The course covers the fundamentals of team leadership and provides tools to strengthen skills in managing people and groups.

Module 1: Leading on the Frontline

Overview: Today’s leaders need to understand what drives behaviour—both in themselves and their teams—and know how to coach others to succeed. This interactive course will help build self-awareness, strengthen leadership skills, and develop strategies to boost staff performance, compliance, and productivity.

Learning Objectives:

Describe the role and responsibilities of managers and supervisors

Use key leadership and management skills to support team success

Identify their personal leadership style using the Personality Dimensions® tool

Learn to apply strengths to lead, motivate, and communicate

Build stronger teams by understanding and working with different personalities

Module 2: Communicating with Confidence

Overview: Strong communication skills are essential for managers and supervisors. How one communicates affects teamwork, productivity, and even career growth. Good communication also helps prevent conflict, manage difficult personalities, and build a positive, productive workplace. This course will give practical tools to communicate with clarity, listen actively, and lead with professionalism and respect.

Learning Objectives:

Learn how good communication builds morale and supports strong teams

Recognize the impact of body language and non-verbal cues when coaching or listening

Use practical techniques to improve day-to-day communication with their team

Assess their own listening habits and set goals to become a better listener

Module 3: Dealing with Difficult Behaviors

Overview: Conflict happens in all project teams. When managed properly, conflict may lead to stronger working relationships and a healthier workplace. This course will help to understand conflict, recognize own conflict style, and use practical strategies to resolve disputes in a positive, respectful way.

Participants will complete the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI) to discover their personal approach to conflict.

Learning Objectives:

·       Tell the difference between constructive and destructive conflict

·       Identify the five most common ways people handle conflict

·       Use interest-based methods to resolve workplace issues

·       Recognize passive, assertive, and aggressive behaviours in themselves and others

·       Understand what harassment and workplace bullying look like and how to respond

Module 4: Training and Coaching People to Perform

Overview: Today’s frontline leaders often need to manage multiple tasks, including training and orienting new workers. Adults don’t all learn the same way, and good leaders know how to adapt their training to different learning styles. This interactive course will build skills and confidence to lead effective orientations, team discussions, or training sessions.

Learning Objectives:

·       How adults learn and why it’s important for effective training

·       The cycle and different learning styles

·       Reflect on how their own learning style affects how they train or coach others

·       Use strategies to engage people with different learning needs

·       Help learners apply new skills and knowledge on the job

Module 5: Building Personal and Team Accountability

Overview: Personal accountability is key to building strong teams, improving retention and productivity, and delivering better customer service. While the idea isn’t new, many teams still struggle with putting it into practice. This course will help strengthen personal accountability as a leader and provide practical tools to build a more responsible, engaged team.

Learning Objectives:

·       Explain how self-awareness and personal responsibility support teamwork

·       Learn how accountability works within a team setting

·       Identify common roadblocks that make accountability difficult

·       Recognize how group behaviour can influence individual accountability

·       Reflect on how personal beliefs shape their leadership style

·       Strategies to promote a culture of shared accountability
