Overview: This workshop provides practical strategies to help subcontractors take full advantage of project opportunities while managing risks. Whether experienced in subcontracting or just starting out, participants will gain valuable insights and tools to strengthen their approach to contract work.

 Using a detailed manual filled with practical checklists, templates, and spreadsheets, participants will explore key responsibilities under subcontract agreements. Working together, participants will build a “Subcontract Handbook” to help guide future work. Using a green, amber, and red-light system, the workshop will also teach participants how to identify and flag risky subcontract clauses before signing, making the review process easier and more effective.

Learning Objectives:

·         Learn key subcontract clauses: design responsibility, flow-down clauses, payment terms, insurance, warranties, temporary facilities, and more

·         Understand contract law, incorporation by reference, and other important terms

·         Identify risky subcontract clauses
