The Construction Association of Nova Scotia is proud to partner with the Native Council of Nova Scotia on an informative webinar that will educate CANS members on the services and programs offered by the Native Council of Nova Scotia related to the construction industry.

The Native Council of Nova Scotia is the self-governing authority for the large community of Mi’kmaq/Aboriginal peoples residing off-reserve in Nova Scotia throughout traditional Mi’kmaq territory. Their goal is to operate and administer a strong and effective Aboriginal Peoples Representative Organization that serves, advocates, and represents our community.

In this webinar, you will learn about:

    • Aboriginal Peoples Training & Employment Commission (APTEC) - APTEC is the employment and training division of the Native Council of Nova Scotia established to provide human resource development services to the rural, urban, off-reserve Mi’kmaq / Aboriginal Peoples of Nova Scotia.
    • Aboriginal Trades Project - The goal of the Aboriginal Trades Project is to continue to increase the number of Aboriginal People who are trained and retained in the designated skilled trades and to also register rural, urban, off-reserve Aboriginal Peoples with the Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Agency, ultimately moving them through the apprenticeship process.
