The construction industry is very large and employs over 30,000 people in Nova Scotia. Within this industry there is a wide range of jobs from engineering and technical staff to skilled tradespeople and operatives. It is important for new and potential entrants to the industry to understand the sector so they have a clearer grasp on what is going on around them. In this one day session, participants will have the opportunity to explore facts and figures about the industry in which they work. They will become more familiar with the material, processes, and job roles. They will become familiar with the work-related language which will serve as an introduction to the rest of the materials. At the end of this session participants will learn how important this industry is in job creation and the important issues that face it.

• A look at the job roles and responsibilities in the construction industry

• Construction process, tendering, bidding

• Basic understanding of documents

• Economic impact of the industry

• Opportunities for career growth within the industry

-Cancellations must be received no later than 10 business days prior to the course date to be eligible for a 75% refund of registration fees.
-No refunds will be issued after this date.
-If you register for the course and do not attend, you are liable for the full registration fee unless you cancel according to the terms stated above.
